How typing accuracy is calculated

TypeMaster calculates accuracy as correct characters ÷ total keystrokes × 100. Because backspaces count as keystrokes, correcting an error still lowers accuracy slightly — precision on the first attempt is rewarded.

Two modes for practising accuracy

• Hardcore: the test ends the moment you type a wrong character, so you learn to slow down until each key is reliable.
• Blind: correct and incorrect characters are not highlighted while you type; your accuracy is revealed only at the end. This builds trust in your muscle memory instead of watching for errors.

How to improve typing accuracy

• Slow down until you can stay above roughly 95% accuracy, then increase speed gradually.
• Keep your eyes on the text, not the keyboard.
• Use the correct finger for each key so errors follow a pattern you can fix.
• Review which keys you miss most, and drill those specifically.
